More Racing!

So, I know its been a long time since I’ve posted up here - but trust me, I’ve been busy.

Between racing the J/24’s on Clear Lake and on the regatta circuit (recently in Austin, Texas on Lake Travis), and racing Millennium Express again in a few regattas (the Shoe Regatta, and most recently the first of several Rum Races of the season), I’ve managed to squeeze work (the kind that pays), boat work (the kind that spends), and a very very small amount of personal time in the mix. Its okay though, because I’m rapidly approaching Project Season - and a lot of that boat work has gone into getting her ready for the various projects I outlined in a previous post. Getting quotes, researching parts, cleaning her up, all just part of the game. I’m hoping to get a small crew and sail her in one of the informal “cruiser’s races” held around here as well. That would be a blast!

In the meantime, for your amusement, here are some photos. I’ll start with the one I like best, me at the helm of Millennium Express:

A few from Austin race weekend (note: we are boat #23, Trick Bag, and I’m trimming the jib, forward cockpit position, usually seated in a solid light blue shirt, our spinnaker is bright green, yellow, and red). You WILL have to click these unfortunately as the blog software combines with the photographer’s website is causing the images to get cut-off halfway across so you’re only getting about half the picture here. I don’t think I have found any online from the Shoe Regatta…
